Conference Tackles Industry Issues
By
media journalist
The e-Services
Philippines (ESP) 2006 CEO Forum will feature presentations of 23
international experts and executives on major outsourcing industry issues
and trends, according to Felicitas Agoncillo-Reyes, assistant secretary of
the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and head of the Center for
International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotion
arm of the DTI.
This
year’s conference will carry the theme _Global Outsourcing Outlook,_ and
will feature focused discussions on emerging trends and issues specific to
the IT and ITenabled sectors (ITES) such as animation, contact centers,
business process outsourcing, software development, medical transcription
and engineering design, Agoncillo-Reyes said.
Speakers include Avinash Vashistha of neoIT, Christopher Beshouri of
McKinsey & Company, and Richard Mills of Chalre Associates, all
respected global authorities.
CITEM is the organizer of e-Services Philippines. Now on its sixth year, ESP
will take
place on February 16-17 at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
Agoncillo-Reyes said that aside from industry trends and issues, the
presentations will
identify areas for cooperation between local IT and ITES firms and foreign
associations
and partners, as well as testimonials confirming the Philippines, ongoing
viability as a
world-class outsourcing hub. She said the conference will also discuss case
studies of
outsourcing models, strategies for breaking into new international markets
and for
establishing niche expertise.
The fact that more international experts are traveling to the Philippines
for ESP 2006
shows that the conference and exhibition is gaining momentum as a recognized
and much-anticipated international show, Agoncillo-Reyes said.
Other ESP speakers include: Susie Babani, chief operating officer, Global
Resourcing
East Asia, HSBC; Eisaku Oshima, president of WeServ Japan; and Chris Sacca,
Special Projects head of Google.
